Tether, the corporate behind Tether USD (USDT), has promoted its chief know-how officer, Paolo Ardoino, to chief government officer, the issuer of the world’s largest stablecoin introduced on Friday.

- Ardoino can be succeeding Jean-Louis van der Velde from December 2023, who will transition to an advisory position for the agency, whereas retaining his place because the chief government officer of Bitfinex, Tether’s sister cryptocurrency change underneath the iFinex Inc umbrella.
- Ardoino will preserve his roles as CTO at Bitfinex and chief technique officer at Holepunch, a Bitcoin layer-2 mission funded by Tether and Bitfinex. Ardoino has been serving as Tether’s CTO since 2017.
- Regardless of Ardoino’s position as CTO for each corporations, Bitfinex and Tether, he has been their de facto spokesperson, usually representing the businesses to handle the general public and media.
